PURPOSE: The purpose of this interest group is to critically examine Newman’s notion of spirituality and determine its significance for contemporary theology, the understanding of the mission of Catholic Church today, and for the life of Catholic believers in the twenty-first century. The projection is that the results of this study will be disseminated through an edited work on Newman’s spirituality.

  5. Participants have to be CTSA members in good standing and cannot have more than one speaking role at the convention.

In your proposal, explain what aspect of Newman’s thought you will critically examine, its implications for Newman’s spirituality, and the significance of this aspect of Newman’s spirituality for today. It is essential that your paper address some aspect of Newman’s spirituality.
