One-year full-time Research Associate in
Ecumenical Theology and Ecclesiology
The Department of Theology and Religion at Durham University invites applications for a one-year Research Associate in Ecumenical Theology and Ecclesiology.
The appointee will have the ability to conduct independent research in his/her own specialist area of theology and religion (nominal 50% workload). In addition, she/he will play a major role (nominal 50% workload) in assisting with the completion and publication of the final stages of the internationally-regarded Durham Receptive Ecumenism projects. The postholder will work in close co-ordination with the Assistant Director of the Centre for Catholic Studies (CCS) and the Dean and Director of the CCS.
This is an exciting opportunity for an able, early-career researcher who has recently submitted or is about to submit his/her doctoral dissertation and who has energy for and proven expertise in ecclesiological analysis, constructive ecumenical work, empirical study of the church, conference organisation, publication-standard editing, and who wishes to gain significant experience working within this internationally regarded Centre, situated in the public, secular university, within the UK’s research-leading Department of Theology and Religion (as assessed in the most recent 2008 UK government assessment exercise).
