The Religious Studies Department of Gonzaga University invites applicants for a tenure-track, fulltime, position in East Asian Religions to begin fall 2014. Rank is at the assistant professor or instructor level. The position is a 3/3 teaching load, with primary emphasis on undergraduate teaching. Required qualifications: Ph.D. or ABD in the field of East Asian Religions (with degree in hand by the end of the first year of employment). The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in any aspect or historical period of East Asian Religions, with additional demonstrated expertise in either cross-cultural and comparative religious perspectives, gender, or methodology in religious studies; evidence of promise in the areas of scholarship and research; and evidence of proficiency in primary language(s).
