Tenure-track position at level of Assistant Professor

The Religious Studies Department of Iona College seeks applications for a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor. Applicants must have the Ph.D. in the history of religions. The applicant’s area of specialization will be Islam and the area of competence may be one of the following: religions of China, religions of India, or indigenous religions. Successful applicants will demonstrate: a passion for teaching undergraduates in a core curriculum; deep interest in collaborative engagements within the Department and the College; an ability to teach and research in interdisciplinary modalities. The applicant will also provide evidence of a research agenda. Faculty members teach four (4) sections a semester including the introductory courses required of all students as well as courses in their field. Finalists for the position will be required to teach a class as part of the application process.
