J.J. was a classmate of mine at GTU/JSTB in the 1970's. He was a good and gracious man whose love for beauty found expression through photography. May he rest in the fullness of creation.

J.J. was a gifted theologian and teacher, a generous colleague. and a good friend. He joined the faculty at St. Louis University the same year that I joined the faculty at Aquinas Institute of Theology (1984). Since we both taught courses in Christology and Fundamental Theology/Theological Method, we had some great conversations and shared many resources and insights. A favorite memory is the "Jesus in Film" festival that J.J. organized for joint sessions of our Christology classes.
I'm grateful for the Jesuit-Dominican collaboration--and for J.J., who now dwells in the mystery of God's abundant love.

J.J. was more than a friend, he was a true big brother to me and many more I am sure. We first met when he was completing his doctorate at the GTU and I was a novice at Mission San Jose, CA. Completing that PhD in record time, J.J. never lost touch with our community and remains a treasured brother in the Lord. Whenever our paths would cross at CTSA it was a wonderful reunion. That twinkle in his eyes remained even when visiting him at J Hall during his long illness. He embodied all that is good, true and faithful in a Jesuit vocation. I can only rejoice in his new life in the Christ he knew and trusted in all things. Grace and Peace eternally, dear J.J.
